The Book So Far

The book is okay so far. I don't really like the main character, Lee. I read pretty far into the book already and I find Lee to be very insecure and she her self-esteem was always very low. One thing I can like about her though, is her honesty and how observant she is.
Also, the book is a little rushed. This can be good and bad at times. I can expect that it's going so fast, considering she goes through all four years of high school in this book, but the transistions from grade to grade confuse me sometimes. I didn't realize it at all when she became a sophomore or a junior.

The book turned out to be the opposite of what I thought. It's not easy to relate to the characters in the book, and Lee is so different from me.

lee seems to me like a charachter from the manga/ anime of Naruto (who's name is Rock Lee) he has low self esteem all the time and is very gullible and he needs to find himself

Remember HipHop High School? Does Prep remind you of that book? But no, I guess not since the way you described Prep is not the way HHHS was, even though in the book the main character made transitions between each grade too. By the way, where does the story take place?

Hey Anna, the book you chose sounds okay. I can understand what you mean when you say the book is rushed, its harder to understand when everything is happening at once or so quickly. I guess a lot of high school students have low- self esteem, maybe she will change toward the end of the book and have more confidence. Hopefully after your finished reading the whole book you will understand it better. Great blog!

♥Hey Anna♥
I like your blog post. I find it interesting that you as a high school student find that you can't relate to someone your own age. Perhaps it is because we go to a public high school and travel to and from it every day and the girl goes to a boarding school. I've read a few books about boarding schools and I've found that there is usually rivalry between the main character and someone else in the book. I also find it VERY funny that the girl's name is LEE!!!

Hey Anna this is Stephanie~♥♥
I like your blog very much! Your posts make the book seem interesting and I want to read the book now. I feel bad for the main character because her name is Lee o_O;; It's very awkward... Hahaha even Zoe thinks it is weird too... :) Anyways, keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing your new posts!

hey annalise.
I agree with Shazena, you probably don't relate to Lee because she goes to boading school, and you go to public school. It may not seem like a big difference, but like Shazena, I've read some books with girls going to boarding school, and their school life is really different from ours. (For example: "A Great and Terrible Beauty," which is an AMAZING book, but unfortunately isn't on the Independent Book List because I'd recommend it to anyone/everyone)

But yeah, I guess the book may seem a bit rushed because its going through 4 years of high school.

I agree with you that the book is rushed because in the book its about all years of high school. Also I think has low self esteem but i think thats something most high school students go through.

i love this book. i think it's really good and easy to relate to. but i do understand when you say it's a little rushed. because she does go through her high school years rather fast.

Lee? Is that her last name or first?
On the other hand, I thought that Prep would be good, but it seems like it's a bad book.
Hopefully the book gets better as time passes and you'll be able to relate to Lee :)

What's wrong with the name LEE. I know a girl name LEE... it's pretty common, well, at least in Asian countries... Anyways, the book sounds fun!!! and confusing at the same time. I agree with Aruna that when the book is rushed, its harder to understand because everything is happening too quickly.
